When I first wrote about The Dark Knight in this blog I quoted an online article critiquing the movie as "definitely not for kids". Cuing from that article I even had a first impression that this movie by Christopher Nolan is a movie filled with violence and gore that leaves a very bad impression and message to kids who just love Batman and superheroes in general. Today I have finally watched the movie and I can definitely say that the critiques are wrong. Batman, The Dark Knight leaves a very strong positive message to its viewers and you can quote me on that. In fact I captured and recorded a part of it which I think delivered the strongest positive message of this movie

The movie in general was indeed full of violence and blood but never gore. It has the message of reality in it. Gotham was in fact a depiction of real life and how this world really is. It is twisted and full of uncertainties and criminal minds. There are people who are evil and there are people who are good.

It also shows the fact that sometimes the choice between good and evil is so thin that we fail to realize that what we are doing is actually more evil rather than good. It shows the limitation and weakness of our decisions and emotions. Harvey Dent from the once savior of Gotham to the confused Two Face was a scenery of how a terrible event in our life could radically change us and our perception of life.

STORY: 10 - means the depth of the story and the overall plot.

CHARACTERS: 10 - this pertains to the ability of the characters to portray their roles.

COHERENCE: 10 - ability of the story to be coherent as the episode progresses.

DEPTH: 10 - the effectiveness of the story to relay the full plot and to show the story of each character.

MUSIC: 10 - effective use of music in the story.

VISUAL EFFECTS: 10 - amount and effectiveness of special effects.

POPULARITY: 10 - relative popularity of the story/tv series.

RECOMMENDATION: 10 - my recommendation

TOTAL RATING: 10

This one definitely goes again to our famed Circle of 10. Heath Ledger's portrayal of The Joker was superb and it is one of the main reasons why this movie will get way beyond the US$1 Billion mark.

Oh yes I forgot about the strongest message which had captured my attention and this message I would like to leave to all of you. A message which teaches us what real heroism means...


I highly recommend The Dark Knight to people of all ages including kids but of course parental guidance is still recommended.

The film will be released on DVD and Blu-ray Disc in the United Kingdom on December 8, 2008, North America on December 9, 2008 and Australia on December 10, 2008. This will include a one-disc edition DVD; a two-disc Special Edition DVD; a two-disc edition Blu-ray; and a Special Edition Blu-ray package featuring a statuette of the Bat-pod

It is too early to say or make a rating on the new Heroes webisode partnered into between Sprints and NBC. I did get a glimpse of its first episode which is also posted in this article and well all I can say is it is off to an interesting start. Although the webisodes seems to bee too short for me I will really look into the upcoming episodes and I hope that you too check on it regularly. And that's not all you can catch the Heroes: Destiny webisodes right here in The Delano Observer.

The current season of Heroes is turning out to be a cliffhanger series with many unanswered questions, twist and turns and unsure scenarios. This is the best season of heroes yet and there is more to come.

I have just finished watching Heroes Season 3 episode 6 where Peter finally met someone very important to him, his father. Now it seems that everyone thinks that Arthur Petrelli is dead and as to how he died that remains to be answered. Nathan, Peter, and Gabriel's father is supposed to be in a state of coma but thanks to Adam's power he had fully been revived.

Many is at stake as the world is in a brink of chaos once ordinary people gets access to a serum that could give them power. The heroes universe is in utter chaos with characters scrambling either to be a villain or a hero. Mohinder Suresh had become very different and is combating the side effects of his self induced power where he even hurt his own love interest Maya.

Peter is in turmoil as he struggles to learn how to control Gabriel or should I say Sylar's power which he happens to absorb in the future just before the nuclear explosion which killed Daphne, Parkman's future wife.

So it is a perfect 10... well you can't blame me I am really fascinated by this series.

That seems to be the question that is waiting to be answered as Heroes Season 3 unfolds. What will happen to our heroes and who will be the real villain? Well let us just watch as each episode unfolds.

The 80s and the 90s were full of great cartoons and anime. One of my top favorite during that era would be The X-Men animated series wherein I even skipped my college subject during its time slot in order to watch it. X- Men has a fascinating story line which is full of twist and turns. Its range of characters was enormous and the life of the characters intertwined with each other. I even organized a group way back during my high school day called X-Factor which is composed of the cream of the crop of my school.
